You Are in Safe Hands, From Start to Finish
Gentle Procedures offers vasectomy care at our Birmingham clinic using modern techniques designed for comfort and efficiency. Whether you choose our No-Scalpel Vasectomy or the premium Pollock Technique™, you’ll benefit from a faster, gentler experience than traditional methods. Our vasectomy Birmingham clinic offers no-scalpel procedures with same-day availability.
- No-Scalpel Vasectomy – uses a single tiny opening in the skin instead of a scalpel incision, with local anaesthetic delivered by a fine needle. It significantly reduces bleeding, bruising and recovery time compared to a conventional scalpel procedure.
- Pollock Technique™ (No-Needle, No-Scalpel) – our premium option, combining the no-scalpel approach with needle-free anaesthetic delivered via a painless pressure spray. It is the gentlest vasectomy method available and is performed exclusively by Pollock-trained doctors.

Real Men. Real Relief.
I had an excellent experience with Gentle Procedures for my vasectomy. The process was truly painless, just like they advertise. The doctor was incredibly kind and put me completely at ease during the procedure. We chatted about pickleball and our kids, which was a great distraction and made the whole experience feel much more comfortable. I really appreciated how professional and friendly the entire team was. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick and stress-free experience!

Such an amazing process from start to finish. The entire surgery only took about 4 mins, I had no pain, even during the freezing where you feel the needle. The healing process was amazing, definitely do nothing the first 3 days besides being on the couch and it will help with the healing going forward. The doctor was great, made me feel comfortable by chatting during the procedure to keep my mind distracted, that really helped.

I had my vasectomy at Gentle Procedures and I couldn't be more satisfied. I was extremely nervous, but the staff was incredibly professional and the doctor was very kind, taking the time to calm me down and explain that it would be a quick process. The procedure itself was completely painless and took only about 10 minutes. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a smooth and professional experience.

I cannot recommend the Gentle Procedures Clinic highly enough! From start to finish, my experience was outstanding. The doctor was absolutely amazing-professional, reassuring, and incredibly skilled. The procedure itself was unbelievably quick and completely pain- free. I hardly noticed that I had undergone a procedure at all! Even afterward, I felt zero pain or discomfort, which was a pleasant surprise.

The procedure was a no-needle and no-scalpel, they used the latest tech "jet sprayer" that numbs the area and I felt a mild fresh feeling "wet and cold" and everything else was virtually painless, I couldn't believe how efficient and professional the doctor was during the procedure and the wonderful staff who was extremely informative and explained what was to be expected.

The procedure was fast and painless. Everyone at the clinic is professional and welcoming. After the procedure and during my healing time any questions and concerns that I had was answered by the doctor promptly. The doctor went above and beyond to accommodate me in some small issues that I was having. Over all great experience and would recommend this clinic.

Vasectomy: Honest Answers for Men
What is a vasectomy and how does it work?
A vasectomy is a permanent form of male contraception that stops sperm from mixing with semen. At Gentle Procedures UK, doctors use the refined Pollock Technique™, which avoids scalpels and needles. Instead, they make a tiny opening and seal the tubes that carry sperm. This quick, precise approach helps men choose long-term birth control with confidence. We make sure every patient understands the process before the procedure, so they feel informed and comfortable.
How long does the vasectomy procedure take?
Using the Pollock Technique™, a vasectomy typically takes 10 minutes or less. The no-scalpel approach and no-needle anaesthetic delivery mean the procedure is faster than traditional methods from start to finish. You are awake throughout, and most men describe the experience as straightforward with minimal discomfort. There is no hospital stay — most patients leave the clinic within 30 to 60 minutes of arriving for their appointment.
When is a semen test needed after a vasectomy?
A follow-up semen test is required after a vasectomy to confirm that the procedure has been successful. At Gentle Procedures UK, this is included as part of your all-inclusive vasectomy care. The test is typically carried out at around 12 weeks post-procedure, or after a specified number of ejaculations as advised in your aftercare guidance. You should continue to use contraception until your semen test confirms the absence of sperm. We provide clear instructions on when and how to submit your semen sample.
Can a vasectomy be reversed if circumstances change?
Vasectomy reversal (vasovasostomy) is possible but it is a more complex surgical procedure and success rates decline over time. Vasectomy should be considered a permanent decision. At Gentle Procedures UK, we recommend that men only proceed with a vasectomy when they are certain they do not want biological children in the future. If there is any uncertainty, this can be discussed openly during your consultation before any decision is made. We do not perform vasectomy reversals, but can provide guidance on appropriate referral routes.
How soon can men return to normal activities after a vasectomy?
Most men return to desk work and light daily activity within 1 to 2 days of their vasectomy. Strenuous activity, heavy lifting, and vigorous exercise should be avoided for 7 days. Sexual activity can typically resume after 7 days, provided the semen test has not yet been completed — contraception must continue until the test confirms success. Driving is generally safe from the day after the procedure for most men, provided they are comfortable. Full written aftercare guidance is provided before you leave the clinic.
