What can you actually help me with?
Most of our patients come to us for one of four things: circumcision (for any age, including newborns), a no-scalpel no-needle vasectomy, a specialist procedure like frenulectomy or preputioplasty, or general men's health support such as a check-up or a medical weight-loss plan. Everything happens in our Birmingham clinic, under local anaesthetic, with the same specialist looking after you from start to finish. You can book directly with us - no need to involve your GP unless you want to.
What should the patients expect during recovery?
For most adults, the first 24 to 48 hours are the most uncomfortable, and "uncomfortable" usually means tender rather than painful. Light activity is fine within a day or two, and most men are back to ordinary life inside a week. Babies tend to settle within a few hours of leaving the clinic. You'll go home with a written plan, a direct phone number for our team, and a follow-up already in your diary - so if anything feels off, you're never guessing what to do.
Do you need a GP referral to book an appointment?
No. You can book straight in with us - online, by phone, or by sending an enquiry. We set the clinic up that way deliberately, because waiting weeks for a referral letter (or months on an NHS list) is one of the biggest reasons people put this off.
Are Gentle Procedures UK clinics regulated and safe?
Every doctor here is GMC-registered, and the clinic itself is registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission - the same body that regulates the NHS. We were awarded an overall "Good" rating in our last inspection, and you're welcome to read the full report on the CQC website before you book.

It was our second time with them and the experience is still the same. There was no waiting to get an appointment. Everything went smoothly from registration to getting an appointment, and to the actual day of the procedure. Dr. Sing never fails to do an amazing job. Booking the appointment was easy and the directions for prior to the appointment were easy to follow. The procedure was relatively quick with the whole appointment lasting about 25 minutes. 20 minutes for numbing and about 5 minutes for the procedure itself. We got to stay in the room during the whole appointment to help keep baby calm (and helped ease moms anxiety about the procedure as well!).

The clinic is very thorough in the booking process, letting you know what to expect and how to care for baby after their procedure. The staff are friendly and efficient and Dr. Sing’s wealth of experience is evident. Baby did not cry during the actual procedure and his discomfort afterwards was just for a few hours. The healing process is quick; we were very pleased in our decision to go with Gentle Procedures.
